Cranford’s Granulated Compost: a granular form of our highest quality compost, approximately 3 millimeters in diameter, designed to dissolve with water to incorporate itself into the soil and promote a diversified microbial environment. After application of Cranford’s Granulated Compost, water will dissolve the granulars and the compost will go to work breaking down existing organic matter, fertilizers, and colonizing itself into the root zone of the soil. Cranford’s Granulated Compost was designed to provide an alternative resource to help re-colonize a soil that does not have the opportunity to be worked up and compost applied on a regular basis.  Most soils have adequate nutrients for plant growth, however some soils lack sufficient amounts of soil microbes which break down organic matter and convert them into inorganic elements for plants to utilize. Repeated chemical applications can deplete soil microbe populations and therefore make your plants look good only after another chemical application.  If you’re ready to stop the “chem.” cycle, then this product will literally work your soil and provide the nutrients plants need essentially allowing you to use less or no added fertilizers.  Cranford’s Granulated Compost is listed by OMRI for use in organic production and meets all requirements determined by the State of California.

Cranford Compost: a high microbial active mature compost designed for serious organic farms and gardens. It consists of clean green-waste, hay, horse manure, cow manure, and preconsumer produce waste. Following an active thermophillic stage, the compost is allowed to mature for 6 – 8 weeks. It is monitored daily for temperature and moisture, and weekly for carbon dioxide levels. The compost is turned depending on temperature, moisture, and carbon dioxide levels to insure proper breakdown and pathogen reduction. Cranford Compost is listed by OMRI for use in organic production and meets all requirements determined by the State of California.
