A. Cranford’s Granulated Compost can be used in any gardening situation. Current customers include home gardeners, home and professional landscapers, farming, vineyards, turf/golf courses, fruit tree/orchards, nurseries, greenhouses, hydroponics, and the list continues to grow.
Q. How much do I use?
A. Follow the direction on packaging or click here. Typical applications are 1 – 2 tablespoons per plant.

Q. How often do I need to apply?
A. Each application will introduce beneficial microbes to the soil. The recommendation is to apply monthly. One application will provide beneficial microbes and the microbes will then grow but for quicker results and higher microbial activity, we suggest that Cranford’s Granulated Compost be applied monthly.
Q. How long can it last? What is the shelf life?
A. As long as Cranford’s Granulated Compost stays cool and dry, the microbes will stay dormant. Current analysis shows after 8 years Cranford’s Granulated Compost is still active when moisture is added.
Q. What sizes does Cranford’s Granulated Compost come in?
A. Cranford’s Granulated Compost comes in three convenient sizes. 2 Quart Jug, 30 lbs box, and 2000 lbs bulk bag or bin.
Q. Are the microbes still alive after the granulation process?
A. Unlike similar products, Cranford’s Granulated Compost microbes are still alive because our process does not produce heat or pressure. Pelletized compost and manures are under extreme pressure and friction essentially sterilizing any microbial activity. You get some nutrients but that’s it. Cranford’s Granulated Compost combines readily available nutrients along with beneficial soil microbes to help make your soil the best it can be.
